MALI:  Mount Hombori is located in the Hombori Tondo region of Mali, West Africa. It consists of an inaccessible tableland of about 2 km square located south of Timbuktu (Mali), at the border between the Sahara desert and the Sahel area. It has a number of caves that were inhabited over 2,000 years ago.

Due to the high cliffs surrounding its summit plateau, its flora and fauna has been preserved from pasture and agriculture.

Mount Hombori is the highest peak in Mali, reaching an elevation of approximately 1,155 meters (3,789 feet) above sea level. The mountain with an inaccessible tableland at the top is a significant archaeological site as
