JOB PURPOSE:
Provide operational support for high-level research, editing, content development and submission of funding proposals
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Craft original and well-researched articles with project objectives and identity standards.
- Reviews appropriateness of articles, photographs and editorial pieces for eventual publication
- Contribute to project-specific communication efforts, material development, and editing for content accuracy and quality including spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
- Develop and implement quality assurance standard processes for materials development and eventual publications.
- Identify and contact potential Grant Organisations for program funding.
- Submit quarterly progress reports on work plans.
- Any other duties as required.
QUALIFICATION:
A Master’s degree in Publishing Studies, English or related fields from a recognised university.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in research and publishing with specific experience in reporting, writing, editing and reviewing translated/edited work.
- An understanding of publishing production is also required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading and oral communication skills, with proven ability to write clear and concise reports;
- Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
- Multitasking, organisational and time management skills
- Excellent project planning and management skills for organising, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation.
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency with regard to computer skills, including excellent Ms. word-processing capabilities
