JOB PURPOSE:

Provide operational support for high-level research, editing, content development and submission of funding proposals

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Craft original and well-researched articles with project objectives and identity standards.
  2. Reviews appropriateness of articles, photographs and editorial pieces for eventual publication
  3. Contribute to project-specific communication efforts, material development, and editing for content accuracy and quality including spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
  4. Develop and implement quality assurance standard processes for materials development and eventual publications.
  5. Identify and contact potential Grant Organisations for program funding.
  6. Submit quarterly progress reports on work plans.
  7. Any other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION:

A Master’s degree in Publishing Studies, English or related fields from a recognised university.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in research and publishing with specific experience in reporting, writing, editing and reviewing translated/edited work.  
  • An understanding of publishing production is also required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading and oral communication skills, with proven ability to write clear and concise reports;
  • Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
  • Multitasking, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent project planning and management skills for organising, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency with regard to computer skills, including excellent Ms. word-processing capabilities
