Research Officer

JOB PURPOSE: To assist in research assignments and deliver on specific work strands

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Carry out research on topics assigned
  2. Edit articles and manuscripts for content and style
  3. Fact-check any data collected during the research process.
  4. Create content in the formof articles, blogs or papers based on the data collected from research.
  5. Develop well-researched pitches and submit them to an Editor for review.
  6. Any other duties as required

QUALIFICATION:

  • A  Bachelor’s degree in English language, Journalism or related fields from a recognised university. 

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 years of proven writing and research experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent command of the English language, especially the rules of syntax, punctuation and grammar

Excellent research and analytical skills

Excellent time management and the ability to stick to deadlines

Good observation skills and a keen attention to detail

Excellent creativity skills

Proficiency in the use of word-processing software, including content management systems
