VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Title: Procurement Officer

The Encyclopaedia Africana Project (EAP) Secretariat invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, and results-oriented individuals for the position of Procurement Officer.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all procurement and related contractual actions from initiation to close.
• Supervise and coordinate policies, procedures and routines in the procurement unit.
• Liaise with various units to determine their goods and service needs.
• Examine tendering arrangements and other means of obtaining competitive quotations in compliance with the Public Procurement Act and other related laws.
• Provide inputs in support of the preparation of the annual budget of the Project Secretariat.
• Prepare periodic reports on all activities related to the Procurement unit.
• Assist with research on assigned thematic areas.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

• A degree in Procurement /Supply Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognised Tertiary institution.
• A minimum of three (3) years post-qualification relevant working experience.
• Knowledge of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended by the Public Procurement (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 914); the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921); and the Internal Audit Agency Act, 2003 (Act 658).
• Knowledge of the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS).
• Strong IT background is an advantage.
