ICT Officer

JOB PURPOSE:   

The ICT Officer shall oversee the Secretariat’s interactions with the public by implementing online content strategies. 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Regular website maintenance and content management
  2. Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily across social media accounts
  3. Plan and develop social media campaigns to build a community online.
  4. Craft compelling social media content
  5. Collaborate with the research and editorial team to ensure that social media is used to support the overall business goals.
  6. Engage with stakeholders on different channels
  7. Generate analytic reports and interpret data
  8. Monitor and respond to comments and questions
  9. Connect current news and events to service provision and delivery
  10. Perform any other duties as may be required

QUALIFICATION

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communication Studies, or related field from a recognized university.

EXPERIENCE

  • Have 3 or more years of social media experience in planning and managing content
  • Proven track record of growing and retaining social  media audiences

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with web design and publishing
  • A grasp of the latest SEO best practices, website security, and an eye for design
  • Have excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.
  • Experience with all current Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and other relevant programs and technologies
  • Proven ability and experience in the production of online video content
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
